NSUI members demand to start students union elections in colleges

With no students union elections in colleges and universities across Madhya Pradesh over the years has escalated the problem of corruption in colleges and universities besides lack of leadership among students has placed their problems untouched over the years asserted NSUI in a memorandum of demand handed over to Rajya Sabha MP Vivek Krishna Tankha. The NSUI delegation expressing anguish on the stubborn stance of stance of state government not to hold student union election met the RS MP on Wednesday. Reportedly MP Tankha assured the delegation would held talks with CM Madhya Pradesh to pave way for student union election in the state.

According to information obtained from Rizwan Ali Koti president RDU NSUI and Rahul Rajak district general secretary, a memorandum of demand was handed over to Rajya Sabha MP Vivek Krishna Tankha. About the contents of the memorandum it is informed that in Madhya Pradesh since 2011-12 no student union elections have taken place. In absence of formation of student union council in the post election process has created vacuum among students to emerge with leadership qualities. Besides has paved way for large scale corruption in college and universities operational across Madhya Pradesh. No attention is being given to students genuine demand who are deprived of basis infrastructure as there is no one to raise their voice in support of the demands made.

Rajya Sabha MP Vivek Krishna Tankha who gave patient hearing to NSUI delegation, assured that he would hold talks with Chief Minister Madhya Pradesh to pave way for student union elections in the state. Among members present Rizwan Ali Koti president RDU NSUI, Rahul Rajak district general secretary Jahid Hussain, Iqbal Ansari, Manish Vishwakarma, Mohamed Janeul Rahul Bhaglel and others.
