Symposium on noted writer Amrita Preetam organised

HindI and Language Science Department, Rani Durgawati University (RDU) organised a symposium on noted writer of Punjab Amrita Preetam on her birthday ‘Amrita Preetam Ka Sahitya’ on Wednesday. RDU Vice-Chancellor Professor Kapil Deo Mishra said that even today in our country colonial powers are active. That are continuously attacking literature. When literature is the most effective medium of developing character of the society and nation.

Professor and Head Professor Tribhuwannath Shukla delivering talk on seed concept of symposium said that Amrita Preetam has deep relation with Rani Durgawati University. In 1983, she was accorded with DLit Degree by the University.

On her biography ‘Rashidi Ticket’ a research work was done in MPhil. He also criticised book ‘Hindutava Mukta Bharat’ penned by Kancha Malliya and released by MP Rajya Sabha Sharad Yadav. Responsibility of literature towards society is to unite it and not to segregate it. Head Professor Radhika Prasad Mishra said that literature of Amrita Preetam is full of emotions and humanity. Her novel was also adapted into a movide called ‘Pinjar’.

The programme was convened by Dr Preeti Pandey and Sona Pathak. Dr Swati Mishra proposed a vote of thanks. On the occasion, Professor A K Gil, Dr Asha Rani, Deepak Kumar Lalkher and students were present in large numbers.
