RAIPUR,

The first phase of Bharat Net Yojana will be completed in November at any cost. The assurance was given by Union Minister of State for Tele-communications (Independent Charge) Manoj Sinha to Chief Minister Dr. Raman Singh in New Delhi on Tuesday.

The Union Minister revealed that 70 per cent of the works on the project had already been completed. He directed the concerned department officials to oversee the development works in a phased manner.

Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh said that in Chhattisgarh high-quality telecom network is needed as it is battling Left-Wing Extremism and the terrain is hostile. The projects should be fast-tracked and the developmental works should reach the far-flung areas of the state. Dr Raman Singh suggested that ‘Ring Technology’ should be implemented to have high-grade telecom facility. Dr Raman Singh said that 400 gram panchayats will get the benefit if ultra-modern connectivity.

Chief Minister expressed his gratitude that in spite of so many hurdles the telecom authority had installed 460 telecom towers in Surguja and Bastar districts. He hoped that second phase of works also will start soon. Telecommunication Secretary Aruna Sundarrajan, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Aman Kumar Singh, OSD Vikram Sisodia and several senior officers were also present.
