Two accused held in Seoni murder case

“LORDGANJ police arrested Abhishek and Golu alias Arun Batho accused of murder of Ajju Rajak recently at Seoni when they were trying to flee from the city,” informed CSP Hariom Sharma and SHO Lordganj Susheel Chouhan while addressing a press conference at Lordganj Police Station on Wednesday. CSP Sharma informed that police team was constituted on direction of SP Shashikant Shukla to arrest the culprit. He further informed that a team was constituted on complaint of Vinod Ladiya, a resident of Jagdish Temple, Garha Pathak.


According to the complaint, on the intervening night of September 25 at around 3 am he was sitting with his friend at Durga Pandal, he heard cries near Mangal Atta Chakki. He saw that Ajju alias Rajak (22), a resident of Garha Pathak was lying with grave injuries on his neck, chest and body. Police after conducting panchnama sent the body for autopsy and registered a complaint under Section 302 of the IPC.


Police team was informed that in July 2016, Ajju Rajak and Shadab had attacked Abhishek Batho with a sharp knife and the matter was pending in the court. It also came to light that Abhishek Batho was pressuring Ajju Rajak to change his statement.


Connecting the dots, police started search for suspect Abhishek Batho, who was found absconding. Police started search for absconders. Acting on the tip-off, police were informed that the duo suspects were going to Nagpur by a private bus. They both were arrested near Seoni. The duo accused confessed to the murder over animosity. They informed that on September 26, Ajju Rajak and his friends were at Durga Pandal where Abhishek Batho and his friends threw chilli powder on Ajju Rajak and his friends. Ajju Rajak tried to run from the place after being attacked near Gali. Abhishek and his friends attacked Ajju with sharp-edged weapons on his neck, check, and soon Ajju was found lying on the ground as he had succumbed. Clothes and knife were seized. SP has announced reward for the police team for arresting the murder accused.
