C’garh boys bag record third Gold in a row

Chhattisgarh boys have won record third gold medal in a row as they defeated Rajasthan in the final by 20-00 in the 30th Sub-junior National Softball Championship, organised at Hyderabad from September 24 to 28.

Earlier in the super league, state boys defeated the host Andhra Pradesh by 04-02 to top the pool and meet the topper of the second pool Rajasthan in the final that was marred by rain. When the match started, Chhattisgarh elected to field first by winning the toss. Despite losing the final, Rajasthan got another opportunity to play the grant final as it was the pool topper.

Rajasthan defeated Pubjab by 03-00 to enter the grand final in which Chhattisgarh again defeated it. Tarun and Animesh Tandi played the key in the win. The significance is that, Chhattisgarh lost only one match in final. World Baseball-Softball Confederation President Riccardo Fraccari was the Chief guest.

Despite being a sub-junior player Animesh, who conceded only 5 runs in 7 matches, has been selected for U-19 Asian Championship to be held in Hong Kong.
Tarun, Dushyant, Roshan, Aryan and Vimal performed well for
State in tournament.
