House burgled in Gorakhpur

An unidentified person broke into a house and took away jewellery amounting to Rs 1.62 lakh in Laxmi Colony under the jurisdiction of Gorakhpur police station in the intervening night of Wednesday and Thursday.

CSP, Gorakhpur, Anjulata Patle informed that a man named Rajendra Singh Parmar (44), working as Journalist and resident of Laxmi Colony, lodged a complaint that he, along with his family members, went for visiting Navratra festival at around 9:15 pm and his house was locked. They returned home at around 2 am and found that the locks of main entrance door and second entrance door of the house were missing. He entered the house and witnessed that commodities were spread everywhere in the house and almirahs were opened.

When checked, he learnt that unidentified person broke into the house and took away jewellery of his sister named Madhuri Rajput, including a gold necklace of 15 grams, a gold chain of 10 grams, a pair of gold tops weighing 10 grams, gold balls of 10 grams, two gold rings of 20 grams, three pairs of anklets of 250 grams, cheque book amounting to Rs 1.62 lakh.

Learning about the incident, CSP, Gorakhpur, Anjulata Patle along with finger print expert and sniffer dog squad reached the spot. Police have collected evidences from the spot of incident for further investigation into the case. Gorakhpur police have registered a case under sections 457 and 380 of the IPC, while further investigations are underway to identify and apprehend the thief.
