Water Sports Centre dedicated in Datia

In order to develop sports facilities continuously in the state, Water Sports Centre was dedicated in Datia on Thursday. Minister for Sports and Youth Welfare Yashodhara Raje Scindia inaugurated the center at Lala ke Taal of Datia. The programme was presided over by the Minister for Public Relations, Water Resources and Parliamentary Affairs Dr Narottam Mishra.


Scindia mentioned that sports persons of the state are exhibiting their talents at international level. Women hockey players of the state are displaying their best continuously. Similarly, players of Hoshangabad and Rajgarh are taking part in national and international sports competitions of water sports.


Minister Dr Mishra said that the water sports center of Datia will work for enhancing talents of the children linked with the sports. Director Sports Upendra Jain informed about the state's achievements attained in the sports arena.
It may be mentioned that a high standard lawn tennis and badminton court have been made in Datia earlier. Arrangements of sufficient boats have been made in the water sports center. Besides, arrangements of coach and guard have been made. New sports facilities costing Rs 5 crore will be developed in Datia. Moreover, suggestion to begin a multi gym in Datia stadium has been received. Sports Minister Scindia and Minister for Public Relations Dr Mishra visited the Datia stadium and inspected the sports facilities.
