Television actress Bhumika Gurung is essaying the lead role of Nimki in the show ‘Nimki Mukhiya’. Her acting was childhood dream and she is living it today blissfully.
The bubbly actress Bhumika Gurung was in City of Lakes on Saturday for the promotion of her show. Highlighting about her character she says that Nimki is very bubbly, Chulbuli, sometimes selfish, dabang type girl, pure from heart brave, entrepreneurial yet lazy, dramatic yet loving. “I relate 20 per cent to this character as I am an emotional and selfless but Nimki is not that poignant”, she added.

“This is my debut in the lead role and I am blessed enough essaying the role. There was nothing especial for choosing the character as there was no option. Who would say no for the lead that too working under great writer Zama Habib.”
“The audition for the show was long process. As first I sent a video acting like Bhabhiji, on which he said we are not making ‘Bhabhiji Ghar Par Hain’. Thereafter, after watching many movies and Bihari characters I gave audition and then was selected”, Bhumika shares.

Talking about the role she says, the character is challenging and required lot of hard work. Accent used in the show is of state Bihar, for that I needed practice more. Nimki is the princess of a poor father and lives in her Bollywood inspired day dreams. Nimki is the show traces the journey of this unconventional hero who brings a twist to the established
political scenario of Bihar.

This role is more righteous and she does not have interest in politics even I do not have it in real life. But still she joins politics thinking that it would give glamour and people entice her saying ‘Tum Katrina Kaif Jaisi Dikhogi Rajneeti Ki’. According to me, the content is the USP of the show, says Bhumika. The concept of Nimki Mukhiya is unusual and different from what we have seen on television so far.

Nimki is marriage obsessed, slightly neurotic, highly opinionated and most importantly far removed from politics. But, by a chance of faith and a new government regulation she finds herself elected as the first female ‘mukhiya’ of her village.” Earlier, I did a lot of episodic shows and debuted on television in “Saat Phere” television show when I was only 12 and player daughter’s role. After then my family supported me to fulfil my dream, Bhumika added.
