A 40-year-old married woman was robbed by two miscreants in absence of her husband after being held captive in her own house at Power House Road in Bazaria area, on Friday night

With the help of grab of CCTV footage, Station Bazaria police on Sunday claimed to have busted gang involved in loot incident with a 40-year-old married woman, who was robbed by two miscreants in absence of her husband after being held captive in her own house at Power House Road in Bazaria area, on Friday night.


Superintendent of Police (South) Siddharth Bahuguna, while addressing mediapersons at police control room said, “There were total eight persons, including a teen girl, who were involved in the loot incident and seven persons have been arrested by the police and robbed valuables has been recovered from their possession, whereas the remaining member of the gang is still absconding.”


“Those arrested include Jagdeesh Chirad (26), Vivek Batham alias Bittu (18), Shubham Batham (18), Sheetal Yadav (18), Vinay Jogi (29), Sachin Batham (26) and Ajay Batham (20), whereas their accomplice Nitesh Shakya is still absconding,” said SP Bahuguna. In the initial investigation, the CCTV footages were searched. The camera was installed at the victim’s neighbour’s house. The first accused identified was Jagdish Chirad, who got injury in his leg at the time of incident. He was nabbed and when questioned, he confessed to the crime.


Jagdish told police that Nitesh Shakya, Vivek Batham alias Bittu and Shubham Batham planned the robbery. The accused used to recce the house 4-5 days before the incident.


He made revelation that Vivek Batham’s girlfriend Sheetal Yadav is victim’s neighbor and helped by providing the location of the victim to Vivek after victim’s husband Surendra Singh left the house. During the investigation, police found that Vinay Jogi and Sheetal Yadav were involved in the conspiring robbery and Sachin Batham and Ajay Batham kept the robbed valuables of Vivek and Shubham in motorbike and scooter bearing registration number MP04NH5369 and MP04SU5189 and recovered these from their vehicles and seized the vehicles. Vinay’s role was to dispose of the robbed valuables.


Based on the details provided by Jagdish, Vivek, Shubham, Sheetal and Vinay were nabbed, while Nitesh went absconding and search has been intensified to nab the accused.


Notably, on August 1, the victim Himani was robbed after keeping her captive. The miscreants tied her hands and mouth and broke almirah in which gold jewellery were kept and escaped from the house. The complainant Himani Singh lives with her husband Surendra Singh behind Agrawal nursing home in the area of Power House Road. Her husband is posted in post office in TT Nagar.


At the time of incident, victim’s husband was not in home at around 10 pm as he had gone to have meal with his mother along with children.
