Staff Reporter,

District Administration has come up with an innovative idea to groom children getting admission in the private schools under the provisions of Rights of Children to Free and Compulsory Education (RTE) Act. District Collector O P Choudhary on Monday said that such children will be provided tuition through Community Tuition Programme to be devised by the corporators of the respective wards in association with community. A certain place will be selected in every ward and educated youths will be motivated to provide tuition to the children getting admission under the RTE Act.

The District Collector held a workshop of the corporators and cluster in-charges of the district at New Circuit House on Monday and made them aware about the plan.

Addressing the workshop, district collector expressed satisfaction that the admission under RTE in the district has increased by 50 per cent this year in comparison to last year. The online method introduced for the first time in the RTE admission system in the district made the entire system transparent and yielded overwhelming results. Congratulating the cluster in-charges, the district collector said that they made the system transparent.

The district collector also informed that an online monitoring system has been developed to monitor the attendance of the children admitted to private schools under the RTE Act. Information about the children will be registered online with website
