JNKVV professors to boycott Teachers’ Day celebrations today

All professors, scientists and teaching staff of JNKVV have decided to abstain from the Teachers’ Day celebrations on September 5 in the backdrop of growing resentment caused due to delay in implementation of Seventh Pay Commission recommendations. Apparently, the professors of the agriculture university have decided to boycott Teachers’ Day programme.


According to information, a meeting of professors, scientists and teaching staff was called upon on Monday at Vivekanand hall. A resolution was passed on the occasion to boycott Teachers’ Day to be observed on September 5. It has been decided that all professors of the university will congregate in front of agriculture college on Tuesday morning and will take out resentment rally. The purpose behind the decision is the delay in the delay in implementation of Seventh Pay Commission recommendations. A memorandum of demand would be addressed to Vice Chancellor in support of their demand.


Dr R M Sahu, President of Central Professors and Scientist Council informed, “We have decided to offer stiff resistance to observance of Teachers’ Day. We stand united in support of the agitation, demanding immediate release of order to implement the Seventh Pay Commission recommendations.

Among other professors who spoke at length were Dr M L Kewat, Dr M K Hardaha, Dr P K Moitra, Dr V K Shukla, Dr Dinesh Singh, Dr L P S Rajput, Dr Girish Jha, Dr R B Singh, Dr Ashutosh Shrivastava, Dr A K Rai.Dr Abhishek Shukla, General Secretary Central Professors and Scientist Council has made appeal to all fellow colleagues to boycott Teachers’ Day celebration. Among other members present were Dr Alpana Singh, Dr S K Pandey, Dr K K Agrawal, Dr Shekhar Singh Bhaghel, Dr R S Raghuvanshi and others. The meeting was conducted by Dr B S Dwivedi, while the vote of thanks was proposed by Dr V K Tiwari.
