Project ‘Netranjali’ a noble gesture to ensure road safety and avoid accidents

KEC International Limited and RPG Foundation started the eye check-up camp for truck drivers under project ‘Netranjali’ a CSR initiative under the leadership of Rajesh Koolwal, Vice-President, (Manufacturing) of KEC Supply Chain.

“Eyesight is of prime importance for the truck drivers to ensure road safety and truck drivers are one of the important link of every manufacturing company. To avoid the road accidents, it was necessary to check up the eyesight of the players on the road not only for their personal safety but for the safety of the roads,” said Pradip Raut, Manager HR of KEC. SHARP was the implementing partner for the same.

KEC Butibori covered more than 500 truck drivers at supply chain. Out of the 100 truck drivers, 252 drivers were found with weak eyesight. They will be given spectacles free of cost along with counselling from the company at Butibori. The project target is to cover 3,000 truck drivers across KEC to avoid road accidents due to defective eyesight. Eye screening was also done by a team of expert doctors with computerised machine.

Arvind Giri, CSR Lead KEC said, road accidents can be avoided by regular eye check up. Amol Bhople, General Manager KEC said, “We are very happy to associate with a noble cause like this.”
Jitendra Bist, Ali Mohd, Nisar Khan, Rishikesh Toal, Tushar Khiratkar, Niranjan Shionikar, Harishkumar Ghagre, SHARP NGO’s Khushant Deshbhartar, Priyanka Rajulkar and Contacare team led by Lalit worked hard.
