Staff Reporter,

The devotees of Lord Ganesh desisted from immersing the idols in waterbodies and readily obliged to use artificial tanks provided by the Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) at different locations in the city for immersion.
Shrimant Raje Bhosale family set a new precedent by immersing traditional idol of Lord Ganesh in the artificial tank at Gandhi Sagar lake. This will encourage others to follow the footsteps of Raje Bhosale family. NMC has erected temporary wall of tin sheets to protect Sonegaon, Gandhi Sagar and Sakkardara lake to protect these water bodies from immersion of deity.

Nehru Nagar zone has a total 60 artificial tanks for the immersion of idols. Rajesh Karade, Assistant Commissioner said, the zonal team is ready for the immersion of idols. Mudgal has directed for the display of billboards and better illumination of lights for the devotees.

They also visited Gandhi Sagar lake and Futala lake. The team of Dharampeth zone was working hard to clean the premises for the immersion of idols.
