HC notice to MPPKVVCL in case related to Dumna Airport devpt

In the matter related to praying development of Dumna Airport, the division bench of the Madhya Pradesh High Court comprising Chief Justice, Hemant Gupta and Justice, Vijay Kumar Shukla has issued notice to the Madhya Pradesh Poorva Kshetra Vidyut Vitran Company Limited.


Advocate Anoop Nair, counsel for the Airport Authority of India (AAI) stated that the work of laying under-ground cables is likely to be completed in another 45 days. He also stated that the work of appointing consultant for designing building shall be completed during this month. In view of the said facts, the division bench has listed the matter for hearing on October 23, 2017.


In the previous hearing, Advocate, Anoop Nair had pointed out before the court that the AAI has deposited the amount with Electricity Distribution Company, whereas the financial bid for appointing Consultant for designing the airport building shall be opened within this month and the tender process is likely to be completed in the month of September, 2017. However, Advocate Anoop Nair was not able to give the time schedule within which the Electricity Distribution Company shall complete the work of laying under-ground cables.

The division bench had issued notice to the MP Poorva Kshetra Vidyut Vitran Company, Jabalpur, who has to execute the work of laying of under-ground cables. The division bench had listed the matter in the first week of September 2017. The division bench of MPHC has heard the petition filed by Sudhir Chandra Datt.

In the previous hearing, Advocate Anoop Nair, counsel appearing for the AAI, had stated that for designing of airport building, tenders have been invited and technical bid shall also be opened. Nair will give status report on the next date. Advocate Anoop Nair had stated that in another three weeks, the amount sought by the Electricity Distribution Company shall be deposited.


On the other hand, counsel appearing for the Municipal Corporation stated that the construction of the road is in progress. He sought a week’s time to file status report. Advocate Nair had stated that for designing of airport building, tenders have been invited and technical bid shall also be opened. Nair will give status report on the next date.
