Ramkrishna Care Hospital holds campaign on importance of Road safety

Ramkrishna Care Hospital in association with Chhattisgarh State Traffic Police organised a campaign to highlight the importance of wearing helmet and road safety on Tuesday.
A quiz competition was organised. The bikers, who gave correct answer, got helmet as price.
Medical Director of Ramkrishna Care Hospital Dr Sandeep Dave said that such awareness programme would be conducted in every three months in Raipur district.

Head of Department of Neurosurgery, Ramkrishna Care Hospital Dr S N Madhariya said that the head injury can result in damage to the most important part of the central nervous system, brain. This can be dangerous if immediate treatment is not given on time. Head injury can cause problems from loss of memory to severe paralysis and even death.

There are number of victims, who are partially or fully paralyzed just because they did not wear their helmet on the day of injury. It is important to note that the person’s skull doesn’t need to be crushed for brain to get damaged. The people were advised to wear seat belt when in a four wheeler, use an appropriate child safety seat, never drive under the influence of alcohol or drugs, wear a helmet when on a bicycle, motorcycle or scooter, do not place obstacles on pathways and provide the correct safety equipment for workers.
