Devotees bid adieu to Lord Ganesha with fanfare on Day 2

A number of Lord Ganesha idols were immersed with
traditional fervour on the next day of concluding of Lord Ganesha festival ‘Anant Chaturdashi’ too.
On Wednesday, the immersion processions of the idols of prominent Ganesh mandals in Bhopal began this morning amid fanfare.
City witnessed heavy rush in the city areas as huge beautiful Ganesha idols were carried for the immersion thoroughfares of the city.

Devotees thronged in large numbers to bid adieu to the idols of the elephant-headed God. They sought blessings from elephant-headed deity for happiness and prosperous life. Mahaarti was performed along with prasad offered to the devotees. Immersions were done at Kamla Park Ghat, Prempura Ghat, Shahpura Lake, Khatlapura Ghat, etc. Areas including Ganesh Chowk, Sawarkar Chowk, Lakherapura, Peergate, Sindhi Market, Jawahar Chowk, Chote Bhaiya square, Loha market, Sarafa Chowk, Ganesh Chowk and other areas witness traditional fervour. There was strict security of police force and traffic police deployed by the district administration to avoid any kind of nuisance .

Anant Chaturdashi was celebrated on Tuesday as it is the last day of the Hindu festival of Ganeshotsava where Ganesha idols are immersed in the sea or nearby lakes and rivers. On Wednesday also the idol immersion was witnessed.
Devotees marked the end of ‘Ganesh Chaturthi’ raising chants ‘Ganpati Bappa Morya’, ‘Agle Baras Hai Tumko Aana Hi Hoga’.
