MP boxers getting training from Italian coach Raffaele Bergamasco

Italian coach Raffaele Bergamasco is giving training to boxers of Madhya Pradesh Academy. He also gave tips to players about boxing techniques. He also met Sports and Youth Welfare Director Upendra Jain and took information about various activities and achievements of MP Boxing Academy. Italian coach Bergamasco is giving training to Indian team at national youth women’s training camp.

In this training camp MP Boxing Academy’s Jigyasa Rajput, Anjali Sharma, Tanvi, Deepa Kumar, Nancy Piyasi Shruti Yadav is getting trained. They are getting special training for Youth Women’s World Championship which is going to held in Guwahati, Assam, shortly. Main coach of Indian team is Bhaskar Bhatt. Earlier, Indian team has won 10 medals, including two gold, in the 6th Golden Glove Women’s Boxing Tournament at Vojvodina, Serbia.

In all, India won two gold, four silver and four bronze medals. Madhya Pradesh Boxing Academy’s Anjali Sharma and Shruti Yadav got silver and bronze medals respectively at 6th Golden Gloves Boxing Championship in Serbia. Earlier, players of MP State Martial Arts and Boxing Academy brought laurels to the State by bagging 29 medals in the Chessboxing Federation Cup National Championship held from March 10 to 13, 2017 in Mumbai. The women players of Madhya Pradesh State Boxing Academy won 23 medals, including 16 gold, 6 silver and 1 bronze medals in the first Madhya Pradesh State Woman Boxing Championship organised in Jabalpur. Recently, the Boxing Federation of India has decided to have international coach for women’s pugilists too for the first time to enhance performances. Frenchman Stephane Cottalorda has been appointed to train the elite women’s boxing contingent.
