Cealing of BSP quarter collapses, one injured

A trainee in BSP was injured on Thursday when all of a sudden the ceiling plaster of a large area collapsed at the residential quarter in BSP Township at Risali. According to information, a BSP Quarter No-2/E, Risali Sector, Bhilai, was allotted to two trainees in BSP (ACTs), Pradeep Pillai of RMP-2 and Sukant Behra of EMD Department. On Thursday all of a sudden a huge chunk of plaster from the ceiling collapsed with a resounding thud, leaving one ACT injured. When the incident occurred, both the trainees were sleeping.


One of trainee sustained injuries on his mouth and hand. While confirming the details,
Vice President, CITU, Venu Gopal said that this is not the first incident, as such incidents are occurring frequently. He alleged that the mishap was outcome of the lackluster way the civil maintenance work was undertaken for several residential quarters in BSP Township.

He insisted the authorities concerned for ensuring apt maintenance of residential quarters in BSP Township for ensuring the safety of BSP employees. Soon after, a team representing CITU, led by Venu Gopal, Vice President, along with Suresh Upadhyay, DP Chakraborty, Ajay Soni, Kunjbihari Mishra, Mahavir Prasad and Sirajuddin met the injured trainee and ensured the adequate medical treatment for him.
