Students from CCET visit 400 kV Substation at Khedamara

Students of Electrical Engineering department from Christian College of Engineering & Technology, Bhilai along with their faculty members visited at 400 kV Substation at Khedamara, Bhilai and Hydroelectric Power Generation Plant, Gangrel, Dhamtari under their Industrial Visit. The tour was conducted under the guidance of Professors Pramod Baghmar, Soumya Singh, Dr Manoj kumar Nigam along with the Technical Staff, Ghanshyam Sharma. Harish Dewangan, Assistant Engineer, CSPDCL guided the students and educated them about the working of such large substations. He said that modernization and automation of the substation is being done by implementation of SCADA.

On the same day the final year students of Electrical Dept also visited the 10 MW hydroelectric power generation plant at R S Sagar Dam, Gangrel, Dhamtari under the guidance of their professors Muna Biswal, Payal Roy along with the Technical Staff, Hemendra Sahu.


At Gangrel they gained valuable knowledge about generation of renewable energy using hydroelectricity.
Similarly, the students of 5th Semester Electrical dept visited the 10 MW hydroelectric power generation plant at R S Sagar Dam, Gangrel, Dhamtari under the guidance of Dr Mukesh Kumawat, HOD, Soumya Singh, Ashish Dewangan, Assistant Professors along with Ghanshyam Sharma, Technical Assistant, Electrical Engineering Department.


The students of Electrical dept were really motivated with this Industrial Visit through which they gained lots of practical knowhow of power generation, Substation & equipments along with an enjoyable journey to quench their thirst for knowledge. The Executive Vice Chairman of CCET, Fr Jose K Varghese and the Principal, Dr Dipali Soren congratulated the students and staff of Electrical Dept for successful completion of the Industrial Visits and extended their gratitude to officials of CSPDCL and R S Sagar Dam, Gangrel for their valuable support and guidance.
