“Think Raipur”, is an initiative to seek ideas from citizens in transformation of Raipur into Smart City. Think Raipur campaign will commence in a launching event in National Institute of Technology (NIT) by Raipur Smart City Limited (RSCL) on Saturday.

Whether you want your city to be green or to have a particular amenity at certain place, post your ideas on www.thinkraipur.in or call up on toll free number 18002001900. Once submitted, the ideas will undergo scrutiny of an experts’ panel comprising professors of NIT and Indian Institute of Management (IIM). Although, the forum is open to all the citizens, but RSCL’s main focus is on the students.

One such programme named 36 Chhattisgarhi was conducted six months ago. Most people who submitted suggestions had talked about traffic management. As a result, integrated traffic management system was launched citywide for an estimated cost of Rs 250 crores and it was also materialised on ground. Decoration of walls with graffiti was also a public idea. The same 36 Chhattisgarhi programme has been relaunched and rechristened Think Raipur.

Smart Roads likely to begin after Diwali

Around 15 kilometres long roads as a part of Area Based Development (ABD) under Smart City project would be overhauled in phase-1. All the cables will be put underground and footpath will be laid out. Roads with 40 feet in width will have footpath at same level.
