State’s first daily regimen for TB patients inaugurated at Sehore TB centre

State’s first daily regimen for TB patients started at district TB centre, Sehore, on Friday amid many senior health officers, medicos and non-medicos. Besides, there were many TB patients there. Sudesh Rai, independent MLA, Sehore inaugurated the daily regimen and appreciated efforts of the district TB officers and other health officers of Sehore, who made it possible. Such daily regimen centres are to be started in all districts and to which the health department has made arrangements to provide additional drugs to the districts for distributing TB patients daily.

Daily regimen, meant daily dose to the TB patients so that their cure success be more that what is at present. Dr Atul Kharate, State TB Officer said, it was laudable work by Sehore TB officer by taking lead in launching the daily regimen centre. During the inauguration, many TB patients were present who were given drugs and asked to come daily to get prescribed drugs.

When contacted Dr Padmakar Tripathi, District TB Officer, Sehore, said that when the Government wanted to start daily dose centre to TB patients, the preparations were started since then. I had adequate TB drugs taken from the State TB Drugs store so that the work be run smoothly.

What is daily regimen—National Revised TB Control programme year 2012-17 was reviewed. To hike success ratio of the TB cure patiens many new systems were introduced, daily dose or daily regimen systes is of them. Under this system only one tab is given to the TB patient daily, this 1 tab is blended with three to four type of tablets given to the TB patients earlier. Private Doctors have also appreciated this new system.
