DEMANDING implementation of 3rd Pay revision for BSNL employees and to abandon the move for creation of separate tower subsidiary company, members of all unions of BSNL called on Union Communication Minister Manoj Sinhna and submitted memorandum in this regard.

According to Rajesh Rajan, circle secretary SNEA (Chhattisgarh Circle) for BSNL employees from 10 years implementation of 3rd pay revision is due but union government is not taking any initiative as per affordability clause. BSNL Board has recommended pay revision with 15 per cent fitment and forwarded the same for approval to DoT. BSNL is only service provider extending services in Jammu and Kashmir, North East, naxal affected areas of Jharkhand and Chhattisgarh, without considering profit or loss.

Besides this members have also requested Union Minister to take personal initiative to abandon the move of formation of subsidiary tower company with assests of BSNL 66,000 towers. Taking away of BSNL asset of towers and formation of separate tower company will endanger the existence of BSNL, which is catering the needs to rural areas.
