National Tribal Sports C’ship concludes

Around 317 players participated in Archery and 225 players participated in Kho-kho in the 20th National Tribal Sports Championship held at Kamla Devi Public School, Karond from December 28 to 31. These players belonged to 32 different states of the country. Scheduled Tribe Welfare Commission National Chairman Nandkumar Sai was the chief guest in the concluding ceremony on Sunday.

Chief Spokesperson and National Secretary of Vanvasi Kalyan Ashram, Soumya Julu addressing on the occasion said that tribal community’s contribution is remarkable in nation building. Julu said tribal community always played important role in the era of Lord Rama, Maharana Pratap, Shivaji and sacrificed his life and all in serving the motherland. He said tribal community’s identity is simplicity, innocence and honesty.

Vanvasi Kalyan Samiti secretary Guman Singh Damore presented introduction in concluding ceremony. The archery players performed in front of guests and citizens which was commended by all. Winners of archery and kho-kho were presented trophy by the guests. Neelima Tai Patte delivered her speech and state general secretary Yogiraj Parate extended gratitude towards the guests on the concluding of the championship.

Vanvasi Kalyan Ashram national vice president Neelima Tai Patte presided over the programme. Tribal Welfare Minister Lal Singh Arya, Soumya Julu, Kripa Prasad Singh, organising Committee President Sanjay Shah, Guman Singh Damore, Sobhag Singh, Radheyshyam Sharma, Sports Authority of India’s former director VVSN Rao were the guests of honour on the occasion.
