NMRDA has invited suggestions and objections from the people over the changes in the draft plan

To provide relief to the citizens of Nagpur District, Maharashtra Government has eliminated classification of residential zones into four categories and has allowed only two residential zones in recently published Nagpur Metropolitan Region Development Plan (NMRDP).
The Nagpur Metropolitan Region Development Authority (NMRDA) has invited suggestions and objections from the people over the changes in the draft plan.

Earlier, there was four categories R1, R2, R3 and R4 in the residential zones. The NMRDA received several objections over the categorization of residential zones. The State Government has suggested two zones R1 and R2 in the development plan. The R1 zone is purely residential zone while mixed use is allowed in R2 zone.

The Residential zone R1 consists of all plots situated along roads having existing or proposed width of less than 12 meter in non-congested area and less than 9 meter in congested area. The Residential Zone R 2 consists of all plots abutting roads having existing or proposed width of 12 meter and above in non-congested area. The width should be 9 meter and above in congested area. The Government has allowed mix used in the R2 category.
