Staff Reporter,

Soon after the inspection of Chairman of Railway Board (CRB), Ashwani Lohani on Monday the beggars were back on to Raipur Railway Station. It was observed that the Raipur Railway station was well maintained for the inspection by Chairman of Railway Board during his one day tour to State Capital. Prior to his visit South East Central Railway (SECR) General Manager Sunil Singh Soin inspected the railway station and platform on Sunday night to ensure successful inspection by the CRB.

Soon After the senior railway officials moved unwanted elements like beggars were seen back on their locations at railway station. Most shocking was to see two handicapped beggars on the staircase leading to Pay office situated at first floor of platform number one. Two such beggars were spotted in the afternoon at the staircase near Railway enquiry office which leads to first floor. The pay office meant for all Railway employees is also located on the same place where Railway Protection Force (RPF) staffs are seen round the clock to safe guard the office.

Ironically, these beggars were unnoticed by the Railway Protection Force on duty and were not tamed away. It may be mentioned that Railway station has become a shelter place for many beggars and such elements who are involved in pick-pocketing in station premises. It seems to be herculean task for the security persons to keep such elements away from station premises or there might be some underhand dealing as is being apprehended for the failure of the Railway Protection Force to keep these elements at bay.
