“Amidst the tall claims of Central and State governments for making agriculture a profitable business, farmers are still deprived of getting right cost of their agricultural produces and other essential facilities. Madhya Pradesh Government has obtained Krishi Karman Award in a row but the ground reality of agriculture production and farmers is completely different.

The State Government should provide employment to farmers against acquisition of their agriculture land for establishment of NTPC power plant, sugarcane farmers should be given price of Rs 350 per quintal and fulfilling the financial loss occurred in recent past, process of crop insurance scheme should be ease and providing its benefits to farmers as single unit and implementing the formula of Maharashtra Government for procuring entire crops of farmers on government support price”, said Yashwant Sinha, former Union Finance Minister, and senior leader of Bharatiya Janata Party.

Yashwant Sinha was talking to media during his short visit to the city on Wednesday evening. He was accompanied by Somnath Shastri, former Secretary, Ministry of Finance and Farmers’ leader, Shiv Kumar Sharma ‘Kakkaji’.
Former Union Finance Minister informed that he is committed for raising the voice of farmers and affirmed to flay anti-farmer policies of the Central and State governments. He is always available to fight for the rights of farmers without even against the government of BJP or any other party.

Replying to a query, Sinha charged that the NDA government has failed in implementing GST due to having no preliminary preparations. He also charged that the BJP had opposed several schemes like FDI when it was in opposition from 2004 to 2014 but NDA government is approving the same schemes.

This is not the BJP that was established by former Prime Minister, Atal Bihari Bajpai and Lal Krishna Advani who always heard the voice of any small party worker. Sinha added that he tried to take appointment from Prime Minister, Narendra Modi 13-months back to give some importation information about Kashmir but waiting till date to meet him. Now, he has decided to avoid meeting with any government representative and raising the voice of common people on open forum. Senior BJP leader also commented over authenticity of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) and alleged the deployment of Dineshwar Sharma in Kashmir without any mandate or timeframe for submission of report.
