Over 50,000 patients are expected to visit during these five days

A mega five-day free health camp is being organised jointly by BJP Chikitsa Prakosth (Medical Cell) and State Government from January 12, the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda. The camp will culminate on January 16.

The camp, which is stated to be the biggest medical camps ever organised in central India, over 50,000 patients are expected to visit during these five days.
Giving details of the camp, Chief Coordinator of the Camp and PWD Minister Rajesh Munat said that the camp is being organised since last nine years.

Last year 39,000 patients had registered with the camp and were benefited. He also informed that during last year they were successful in developing medical profile of 19,000 patients who had visited the camp.

This year they are targeting to develop medical profile of all patients who will be registering in the camp. Munat informed that apart from 20 leading hospitals from Chhattisgarh, doctors from country’s renowned hospitals like Apollo Hospital Hyderabad, Bombay Hospital and Medical Research Centre Mumbai, Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital Mumbai, Shalby Hospitals Ahmedabad and
Dr Neeraj Awasthi from Max Super Specialty Hospital New Delhi will be participating in the camp.

Apart from allopathic treatments other treatment procedures like Ayurved, Homeopath, Yunani, etc will also be available.
Also doctors from abroad like Dr Anand P Joshi from Medway Maritime Hospital is a general hospital in Gillingham, Kent, United Kingdom will be attending the camp and give their services.

Altogether over 300 doctors and 500 para-medical and nursing staff will be giving their services in the camp which is being held at the Ayurvedic College campus here in the capital.

During the camp medical tests like pathological, digital X-Ray, audiometry test, PET scan, CT MRI will be free for needy patients. However other tests like general sonography, X-ray, ECG, ECO, etc will be free of cost for all. Munat informed that during the camp they have targeted to provide artificial limbs (Jaipur Foot) to atleast 150 needy patients. Talking to media persons the Minister said already 12,000 patients have registered online for the camp till date (http://cghealthcamp-com/Welcome/registration).

He said during the camp medicines will also be distributed to the patients as per prescriptions free of cost. Blood donation facility has also been made available in the camp. A complete separate enclosure has been made for women, he said. During the medical camp patients will also be told about the preventive aspect of diseases. Modern equipments have been established in the camp site for fast and accurate medical tests.
