One of two accused nabbed for stealing tractor, transporting illegal sand stock

Police have registered a case under Sections 379, 420, 467, 468 and 120B of the IPC and apprehended Chhotu Barman and started search for another accused Bittu Thakur

Majhgavan police succeeded in apprehending one of the two accused for stealing a tractor and recovered the tractor while transporting illegal stock of sand near Datla Ghat in Majhgavan, on Wednesday. The accused has been identified as Chhotu Barman (25), a resident of village Khirhani while another accused named Bittu Thakur is still at large.

SHO of Majhgavan police station, Sub Inspector, Chandrakant Jha informed that, on December 31, police nabbed a man named Mukesh Namdeo while transporting illegal stock of sand on a tractor trolley (MP-20AA-5046) at Datla Ghat in Majhgavan. The accused informed about payment of e-royalty of Devri Kanhaighat but he was transporting sand from another spot.

Police had seized the tractor trolley loaded with illegal stock of sand and started investigation into the case.
In further investigations, Mukesh Namdeo disclosed the name of Bittu Thakur as tractor owner. Police issued a notice to tractor owner named Ashok Patel on the basis of vehicle registration number.

Later police learnt that the number place of tractor was fake when police detained Bittu Thakur.
On his identification, police questioned Dinesh Kumar Tiwari as tractor owner who informed that Bittu Thakur hired his tractor at the rate of Rs 17,000 per month through Chhotu Barman. Dinesh charged that Bittu Thakur and Chhotu Barman cheated him for hiring his tractor for illegal transportation of sand and using it with fake number plate.
Acting on the complaint, Majhgavan police have registered a case under Sections 379, 420, 467, 468 and 120B of the IPC and succeeded in apprehending Chhotu Barman and started a search for another accused named Bittu Thakur.
