SAJ Food Products to start operations on 15th

“We have conquered East and now we are proudly stepping in the West,” said K D Paul, Chairman of SAJ Food Products Pvt. Ltd., on Wednesday while talking the media.
“SAJ is now rolling out its fifth factory in Butibori Industrial Area on January 15, which will be inaugurated at the hands of Devendra Fadnavis, Chief Minister of Maharashtra, in the presence of Nitin Gadkari, Union Minister for Road Transport, Highways, Shipping, Water Resources and Ganga Rejuvenation. Other dignitaries including the MPs and MLAs will also grace the occasion,” he said.

SAJ Food Products, a unit of the USD 200 million Aparna Group of Companies headquartered at Kolkata is having 2 units in Howrah and 2 in Siliguri, West Bengal. “This will enable our company to upscale the total capacity to over 1,80,000 tonne annually. Our sixth venture will be coming up in Karnataka shortly,” Paul disclosed.

He said, Bisk Farm is the carrier brand for SAJ Food Products which has been developed and re-enforced into the minds of the Indian consumers. “Bisk Farm stands for world-class quality, freshness and innovativeness of our products. This is as per a well thought out strategy to build strong brands that creates value and establish loyalties amongst consumers,” he said.

He said, SAJ Food Products established in the year 2,000 has an annual business turnover of around USD 150 million. It currently manufactures a spectrum of over 125 varieties of biscuits, cakes, rusks, extruded snacks and wafers under the Bisk Farm brand in wide range of 292 various sizes and quantity. It has also launched a complete range of ethnic Indian snacks under a new brand called Indiaah.

“We are just 17 years old and has swept out big giants in our East which is 100 years old. In East, our market share is 28 per cent, while in rest of the country it is 13 per cent. Though, the market is dominated with three big players, but I had been called up twice by Kishore Biyani, founder and Chief Executive Officer of Future Group, just because our products are innovative. We set standards which are followed by international standards,” Paul proudly said.
While discussing about the Butibori mega project, Paul said, that it is Rs 110 crore investment spread over 8 acres of land.

“We had started our work in April 2015, and are ready to start our production from January 15. The support from MIDC and other authorities was fantastic and were able to complete in a short time. At present we have employed 315 workers and in 3 years we will add upto 1,000 workers,” he said.

“Our maximum workforce will be from Maharashtra, except skilled workers until they are not trained if required. Butibori plant will be manufacturing all 125 products and we are looking forward to supply from here to other parts of the country and even abroad. As Nagpur has great logistic and geographical advantage,” he added. Also present were Adrat Singh from top management, P Chaudhuri, Executive Director and Maynak Chakravarti, GM.
