Many issues discussed during principals’ meeting

Various significant agendas were discussed during principals’ meeting at auditorium of Pt Lajja Shankar Jha School of Excellence on Thursday. Collector Mahesh Chandra Choudhary chaired the meeting which was attended by Chief Executive Officer, District Panchayat, Harshika Singh, District Education Officer, N K Chouksey and Additional Project Co-ordinator, Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan (RMSA), Ajay Dubey.


Principals of Government and private high and higher secondary schools run under periphery of Jabalpur district were called to attend the meeting. During the first phase, out of 300 private schools, 80 principals registered their presence in the meeting, while in the second phase, principals from 142 out of total 180 Government high and higher secondary schools run across the district attended the same.


Discussing the agendas, Collector Choudhary emphasised over communication and motivational programmes to be organised in schools as per wish of the State Government.
The Collector said that public representatives and Government officers will visit the schools to interact with students especially of class X and XII between January 15 and 30. They will apprise students of various beneficial schemes including laptop distribution, scholarship and other welfare schemes being run by the Government for students.

The Collector also asked school principals to collect details about students especially of class X and XII suffering from anxiety and examination phobia and are facing depression which may lead to any fatal incident in future. Principals must organise counselling session for such students and even contact their parents if needed. Occasions of National Youth Day, National Voters’ Day and Republic Day should be celebrated on a grand level with participation of students, teachers and guardians.


CEO Singh appealed to motivate students towards sanitation awareness so that they would force their parents and neighbours to ensure use of toilets. Principals were asked to display interest in reporting and data feeding on Education Portal. The meeting concluded with filling of oath letter by principals regarding approximate results to be obtained by their schools in class X and XII Board Examination. The meeting was co-ordinated by Principal of Tewar School Upendra Yadav.
