Bajaj Group of Industries hands over Rs 5 cr to RTMNU

As a part of its Corporate Social Responsibility Bajaj Group of Industries has handed over Rs 5 crore to Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University for construction of new Administrative Building on the university land opposite Guru Nanak Bhavan. The cheque of Rs 5 crore was handed over to the Vice-Chancellor Dr S P Kane on Friday, by Director of Bajaj Group and Chairman of Shiksha Mandal, Wardha Sanjay Bhargav. Bajaj Group has agreed to fund 50% of the estimated expenditure of Rs 30 crore on the administrative building. earlier Rs 50 lakhs were given when the agreement was signed for the purpose.

Registrar Puranchandra Meshram, Finance and Accounts Officer Dr Raju Hiwse, Director of Examinations and Evaluation Dr Neeraj Khati, Principal Dr Naresh Khandait, University’s Executive Engineer Dattatray Harde, Deputy Registrar Pradeep Biniwale, Archana Bhoyar, Manish Zodape, B S Rathod and Media Co-ordinator Ddr Shyam Dhond were present.

The four-storeyed new administrative building will be named as Jamnalal Bajaj Administrative Premises. Dr Kane said that with the construction of the new building, administrative and academic sections of the university will be closer to each other. this will facilitate functioning of the university and will also reduce inconvenience caused to the students and teachers.

Bhargav said that the Bajaj Group is committed to the support to academic field. he expressed hope that the construction will be completed at a faster pace. The group is supporting 100 schools in Pune, for those deprived of education due to economic reasons. the University should fulfil its responsibility to work on building thinking process of the students and improving their capabilities. Dr Dhond conducted the proceedings. Puranchandra Meshram thanked Bhargav for contributing for the noble cause.
