Eminents perform Surya Namaskar at Pt Lajja Shankar Jha School

Remembering Swami Vivekanand on his 156th birth anniversary, the main event of Surya Namaskar was organised at Pandit Lajja Shankar Jha School of Excellence in presence of Member of Parliament Rakesh Singh, Mayor Dr Swati Godbole and Collector, Mahesh Chandra Choudhary on Friday.Additional Collector, Chote Singh, Chief Executive Officer, Jila Panchayat, Harshika Singh along with other departmental officers were also present.The programme initiated with offering of floral tribute on the portrait of Swami Vivekanand.

MP Rakesh Singh who was present as chief guest, mentioned that being the future citizens of the country, youngsters should make efforts to keep themselves healthy. He also appealed the students to follow the ideologies of Swami Vivekanand to lead a successful life and also asked them to come forward to display their hidden talents before the public. While presiding over the event, Mayor, Dr. Godbole said that Lord Sun provides us unlimited energy and 12 Mudras of Surya Namaskar make us physically and mentally healthy.

More than one lakh students performed Surya Namaskar during the main event. The programme was compeered by Dr. Girish Mairal while the District Education Officer, NK Chouksey proposed the vote of thanks. Joint director, Public Instruction, Dr Kamayani Kashyap, District Project Co-ordinator, RP Chaturvedi and School Principal, Veena Bajpai were specially present on this occasion.The programme ended with the message of State’s Chief Minister, Shivraj Singh Chouhan broadcast through radio.
