Workshop on All India Tiger Estimation-2018 organised

A WORKSHOP on All India Tiger Estimation-2018 was organised at Khatia Eco Centre, Kanha Tiger Reserve, on Friday. Forest officers and employees of Pench Tiger Reserve and Kanha Tiger Reserve attended the workshop. Field Director of Kanha Tiger Reserve Shubhranjan Sen inaugurated the workshop, while other officers of Pench and Kanha Tiger Reserves were also present.

Kanha Tiger Reserve, Joint Director, K S Bhadoria detailed about preparations for All India Tiger Estimation-2018 and significance of the workshop. The workshop was organised in two phases of practical and theoretical information. Representatives from Wildlife Institute of India (WII), Dehradun, gave presentations on quality of data collection of carnivores and herbivores animals on the basis of evidences and their marks in prescribed format.

Besides this, forest officers and employees were informed about mobile application to be used for first time in tigers estimation work. During technical session, representatives were given demonstration of mobile application for collection of evidences and marks of animals to improve quality of data collection.

On the occasion, V K Verma, Chief Conservator of Forest, Sagar, Raghvendra Shrivastava, Chief Conservator of Forest, Chhattarpur, Anjana Suchita Tirkey, Deputy Director, Buffer Zone, S K Sinha, Sudhir Mishra, S Sendram, S K Khare, R S Uikay, Assistant Director and forest divisional and sub-divisional officers and employees from different areas were present.
