The 6 MPTA Integrated Steel Project completed in Angul Odisha under the leadership of Dinesh Kumar Saraogi, who has been born and brought up in Madhya Pradesh's Katni, on December 26, 2017. With completion of this 250 Ton Basic Oxygen Furnace (BOF) the Jindal Steel Complex will now achieve optimal efficiencies in terms of cost and operation.

Saraogi has also been a key leader in building India's biggest blast furnace, World's first Coal Gasification Plant (CGP) for steel making, Country's biggest Electric Arc Furnace as well as other key units of this mega steel plant, which is largest in Odisha.

"This is really a great moment for JSPL and Indian Steel Industry. Inspired by the vision of our Founder O P Jindal ji and our Chairman Naveen Jindal, JSPL is committed to bring prosperity through industrialization and need based social development initiatives," said Saraogi. I am always grateful to people of Katni as I have learnt the value of hard work and perseverance from them, he added. Saraogi has led the project to be built in an environment friendly way adopting World class green technology and ensuring zero discharge system. In the BOF, for the first time in India, JSPL has deployed the innovative Dry Gas Cleaning System, which is superior in terms of environment-friendliness as compared to the Wet Gas Cleaning Plant. "Adoption of Dry Gas Cleaning System reiterates JSPL's commitment to Green Technology," says Saraogi.

After Completing Mechanical Engineering from Government Engineering College, Jabalpur Saraogi joined Jindal Group in 1988 and since then has consistently headed various Business Units of JSPL. Prior to joining the Angul mega steel project as Executive Director and Unit Head, Saraogi was heading the Jindal Shadeed Plant at Oman. He has earned international reputation for making the US$ 500 million Plant in Sultanate of Oman operational, six months ahead of its schedule after its acquisition by JSPL. He is also serving JSPL Board of Directors as a whole-time director of JSPL since 2012.

Saraogi is also recognized for his leadership role and contribution to the social development initiatives of JSPL. He has been conferred with Odisha INC Best CEO of the Year Award in 2014 and JSPL has won several awards under his leadership.
