Scientific, technological development must for Nation’s growth: AIIMS Director

Dr Nitin Nagarkar, Director, All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Raipur, said that scientific and technological development is must for the development of the nation. Dr Nagarkar was addressing the valedictory function of the five-day 17th Inspire Science Camp at Pt Ravishankar Shukla University, on Sunday. Dr Nagarkar inspired the students to pursue their career in Science.

The camp, aimed at motivating students to develop interest among students in Basic Science and motivate them to take up Science as career, was sponsored by the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India.
As many as 208 meritorious students from 86 government and private schools of 22 districts across the state were selected for the camp on the basis of merit.

Camp coordinator Professor Kallol Ghosh presented the report on the camp while special guest Gangadhar Meher University, Sambalpur, Vice Chancellor Dr A K Pati threw lights on the objectives of the camp. Special guest PRSU Registrar Dr Sundip Vansutre elaborated on different aspects of the camp. Professor Preeti Suresh conducted the closing event of the camp.

Earlier, three technical sessions were conducted. IIT Mumbai’s Mathematics Professor Sudhir Ghorpade conducted the first technical session of the camp followed by Harishchandra Research Institute Professor Dr Kalyan Chakravorthy delivered lecture in the second session and Chhattisgarh Sanskrit Board former chairman Dr Ganesh Kaushik addressed the students in the last session of the camp.
