VIA felicitates 19 businesspersons on ‘Entrepreneurship Day’

ON the occasion of ‘Entrepreneurship Day’ celebrated on January 16, the Entrepreneurship Forum of Vidarbha Industries Association (VIA) and Lemon Ideas felicitated 19 entrepreneurs from Nagpur, which included 10 woman entrepreneurs.

The entrepreneurs who were felicitated on the occasion included Arpit Agrawal, Anchal Plast India Pvt Ltd, Asad Dhamani, Climber, Dashank Khushlani, Corporate Trotter, Harish Chopkar, Web, Jyoti Kapoorand Parveen Tuli, Infinite Spaces, Mehak Agrawal, Vanity Inn, Nidhi Gandhi, Studio-N Label Nidhi Gandhi, Pinky Sheth, Mickey Mehta 360° Wellness Temple, Richa Mandhania, Studio Hair Habitat, Shikha Khare, Up-Skill Centre for Vocational and Professional Excellence, Simran Suri and Anchal Suri Manda, GoFor Chai, Subhendra Singh Thakur, Bellatrix Infotech Pvt Ltd, Sukhada Choudhary, Chaos Theory, Ujjwal Trivedi, Shreenath Farsan, Vaibhav Agrawal, Vaibhav Plasto Printing and Packaging Pvt Ltd, Vivart Rangari, Co-creato and Vivek Nandanwar, Web Beta Private Limited.

In the programme, Akash Agrawal, Chairman of Entrepreneurship Forum of VIA explained the reason why January 16 was being celebrated as Entrepreneurship Day all over India as the Prime Minister Narendra Modi had launched ‘Start-up India’ campaign to boost entrepreneurship in India.

Atul Pande, President of VIA spoke about the role played by VIA in enhancing the start-up eco-system of Nagpur and urged youngsters and budding entrepreneurs to take advantage of the various initiatives regarding entrepreneurship by VIA like the Gurukul, Helpdesk etc., and get benefited in their entrepreneurial journey.

Deepak Menaria, Chief Idea Farmer Lemon School of Entrepreneurship emphasised on the need of formal training on entrepreneurship for budding entrepreneurs so that they would have sound knowledge and exposure to various aspects related to entrepreneurship.

After the felicitation, the entrepreneurs answered questions of the audience.
To a question on whether one needed to start working immediately on a business idea or first gain relevant experience before taking entrepreneurial plunge, the entrepreneur Asad Dhamani said that every idea had a limited shelf-life, hence, it was important to believe in one’s business idea and start working on it as early as possible and experience would be obtained while working on one’s idea.

To another question on how important a role did finance and funding play in entrepreneurship. Mehek Agrawal replied, “Finance did not play a major role in the beginning for those entrepreneurs who offered various services. But, it did play a major role for those wanting to develop products and start different industries”.

To another question, according to Nidhi Gandhi and Jyoti Kapoor said that collecting data and doing market analysis was very important before starting any business. If one started a business venture on an unique/ totally new business idea, one could create a new market.

The programme was hosted by Anita Rao. Mukesh Ashar, Chief Technology Officer at Lemon Ideas anchored the Q&A session. Prof Ashit Sinha of VIA summed up the programme proceedings while Program Coordinator Nupur Mukherjee of Lemon Ideas proposed the vote of thanks.
