‘Happiness is important than success’

Both the speakers at the TiE Knowledge Series organised here in the city on Thursday successfully managed to widen the horizon of the participants.
The speakers, expert in their respective fields, also infused a fresh blood of ideas and actions into the participants by sharing motivational stories, incidents and analyzing markets trends.

Speaking on the topic - ‘Approach that makes excellent leader’, the first speaker Gp Capt Y Srinivas, retired Indian Air Force Officer and Managing Director of Skyland Facility Management and Consultants Pvt Ltd., said it is more important to be happy in life than to be successful. “Life is very simple but many people make it complicated and miss the opportunity to enjoy it. One must remember that all happy persons are successful in life but the other way round is not always true. All successful persons in life are not always happy,” he said.

Srinivas further said that one’s ‘attitude’ plays a dominant role in his life and thus he appealed to the participants to bring in attitudinal changes to scale new highs. “Often people give more weightage to acquiring knowledge and set aside the aspect of enriching their attitude and beliefs. However, the fact is that for success, one should give up to 85 per cent weightage to attitude and only 15 per cent to knowledge,” he said.

Srinivas is a specialist in project management, IT infrastructure management, budgeting, estimation, audits and network security, process improvements, change management, service delivery, data centre operations and maintenance, airfield maintenance and excellent leadership qualities.

His core competency lies in his positive attitude, communication skills, leadership skills and professional knowledge.
The second speaker - Suhasini Kirloskar, Co-Founder MarketAxis Consulting - spoke on ‘Marketing and sales: A make or break’,While elaborating on various market trends, she guided the participants on how to attract buyers and increase business volumes. “Identification of our customers is very crucial aspect in today’s business world. It will help you plan strategies and design the product. It also very important to understand the need to the customers,” she said.

Kirloskar discussed many options to reach out to the prospective customers.
“In a current scenario where means of advertising are changing at a rapid pace, we must to be careful while selecting advertising medium. In case of start ups where the advertising budget is quite low, it is advisable to put money in proper channel,” she said.
Later on both the speakers participated in a panel discussion moderated by Milind Chittawar, President of TiE Nagpur.
