Cong delegation submits memorandum to EC

A delegation of Congress has presented a memorandum to Election Commission on Wednesday, expressing apprehension that ruling party BJP may misuse Government machinery to win the ensuing by-polls of Kolaras and Mungawali Assembly. Congress delegation comprising spokesmen J P Dhanopia, Ravi Saxena, Pankaj Chaturvedi, Vibha Patel, Durgesh Sharma presented memorandum to Joint Chief Electoral Officer SS Bansal.

They said that in near future, dates for by elections for vacant assembly seats Kolaras and Mungawali are likely to be held in near future. They alleged that to win both assembly by-polls, ruling party has, from now onwards, started to create fear among government officials by misusing government machinery. BJP is trying to interfere in all government works and fake announcements are being made in by poll bound Kolaras and Mungawali.

They claimed that recently, a senior BJP leader and other office-bearers intimidated government teachers to work to create favourable atmosphere for ruling party. Hence, Congress demanded that case should be registered against such BJP leaders.Notably, Kolaras Assembly seat has fallen vacant after death of sitting Congress MLA Ram Singh Yadav. Mungawali assembly seat became vacant after death of sitting Congress MLA Mahendra Singh Kalukheda. In the meantime, Minister Dr Narottam Mishra has said that BJP will win both assembly by-polls of Kolaras and Mungawali.
