RAIPUR,

A memorandum was handed over in the name of District Collector by the President of Indian Medical Association, Chhattisgarh unit on Tuesday. Doctors (Private practitioners all over the State observed strike on the day.

Mahesh Sinha, President of IMA Chhattisgarh informed that on the request of the National Indian Medical Association, the IMA C’garh unit has launched an agitation against the National Medical Council Bill. On Tuesday, all OPD related health services was closed from 6 am to 6 pm under this movement.
The reason behind the agitation was that, the act if passed will boost the Quakri Bridge programme which will adversely affect the health services of the country.

Inappropriate and corrupt medical education system. National Exit Examination- Unfair and Extreme Tension and Pressure on Students.

Under this Act, by removing a professional body, the Government wants to give all medical education in the hands of its elected representatives or politicians, which is altogether unfair. It will lead to corruption in the medical education system. Anyone wishing to practice allopathy by doing bridge courses for any Ayush, homeopathy or Unani, have to mess with the health of the people of the country.

It allows private medical colleges to set fees on 60% seats in their own way, which is absolutely inappropriate because then all private medical colleges will charge their due fees. Which would make medical education a common dream for a common man. Permission to open medical college without permission and inspection. Promote medical mafia.
