JMC employee caught taking Rs 2,000 bribe

In another trap, Lokayukta police trapped an employee of Jabalpur Municipal Corporation while taking bribe of Rs 2,000 for providing lease of Government land at JMC Zone Office, Garha, on Tuesday. The accused has been identified as Anandraj Ahirwar, officer of JMC Zonal Office, Garha.


Deputy Superintendent of Police, Lokayukta, H P Choudhary informed that they have nabbed the accused Anandraj Ahirwar, when he was taking bribe of Rs 2,000 from complainant named Dilip Kewat, a resident of Vallabhbhai Patel Nagar.


Earlier, Lokayukta, Superintendent of Police, received a complaint from Dilip Kewat that he submitted application for providing lease of Government land for construction of house in JMC Zonal Office, Garha. He contacted the Zonal Officer, Anandraj Ahirwar for progress of his case, who demanded bribe of Rs 2,000.


Acting on the complaint, a team of Lokayukta police fielded the appellant for collecting evidences. Once the information was confirmed, Lokayukta police team reached at JMC Zonal Office and trapped the officer of Government department red-handed when he was taking the cash of Rs 2,000 from the appellant. Lokayukta police have registered a case against the accused under relevant sections of Prevention of Corruption Act, while further investigations are underway.


During the trap, Lokayukta police team comprised DSP, H P Choudhary, Inspector, Manoj Gupta and others.
