C’garh Kisaan Mazdoor Mahasangh fast-un-to-death strike enters third day

The fast-un-to-death strike being held by members of Chhattisgarh Kisaan Mazdoor Mahasangh entered the third day with new support coming from the
women on Monday.


Over 35 women showed up at the sit-in venue to offer their support to farmers staging agitation over various demands. The Strike has started showing its effect on the farming community.
Many people also lined up under the Kisaan Jan Jagran Sangh also pledged solidarity with striking farmers, saying that they are fighting for legitimate rights and they will also hold demonstration at Singhanpur. Women demanded State Government must take the demands of farmers into serious consideration or else the agitation will be further intensified if the women also join.


Farmers leader Ajay Thawait held a day-long fast to show his solidarity with the farmers. Chhattisgarh’s main farmer leader Ram Gulam Singh Thakur, Santawna Thakur announced that they are ready to fight till they accomplish the demands.
Government better give up the demands before the movement heats up further more. Naya Raipur Kisaan Sangharsh Samiti leader Rupan Chandrakar and Tatpar organization Virendra Pandey, Parasnath Sahu and Laxmi Patel also reached the spot to support the farmers.
