Members of Yuva Janta Congress stage protest to preass for their demands

Perturb over pending demand for Rs 1 cr insurance cover for the security personnel posted in naxal infested areas in state, members of Yuva Janta Congress Chhattisgarh(Jogi) led by state president Vinod Tiwari staged massive protest at Fire Brigade Chowk (Motibagh) here. Members alleged that despite promise made Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh and senior officials no initiative has been taken in this regard.

Vinod Tiwari informed that from past 10 months members of Yuva Janta Congress Chhattisgarh are demanding Rs 1 cr insurance cover for security personnel posted in naxal prone areas in state. In this regard delegate submitted memorandum to Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh, Home Minister and senior police officials.

During their several agitations over the issue, members were sent to jail by police and were brutally roughed-up by police during their march toward chief minister house on August 23 (2017) . Other states like Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh is providing insurance cover to security personnel on duty in prone areas, but Chhattisgarh government till date has not taken any initiative. Present during protest were Deodas Narang, Kamlesh Mishra, Sanjay Tiwari, Samir Chauhan, Bhupendra Sahu, Shyam Jha, Devraj Bhat, Karan Pandey, Sunny Solomon, Vinod Chouhan and others.
