PROTESTING against orders of plying trains from Jabalpur Depot with loco pilots of different freight trains of other depots sidelining safety of trains by not providing proper rest to loco pilots, a demonstration was staged by West Central Railway Employees Union (WCREU) at platform number one in front of Pilot Lobo on Tuesday. Irked with orders for running staff, Chief Staff Controller S K Agrawal, employees raised slogans and organised gate meeting and staged demonstration.

Gate meeting was addressed by B N Shukla, Divisional President, WCREU, Niranjan Kumar, Sushant Shukla and Dinesh Patle. The meeting was attended by above 100 running staff. Branch Executive President, WCREU, Niranjan Kumar and Sushant Neel while addressing the meet, levelled serious allegations on irregularities in booking of screened loco pilot goods train while ignoring safety of trains due to plying trains from Jabalpur depot. Due to this running staff is working in stressful conditions. According to the directions from Railway Board the running staff should be given fourth night duty after three successive night shifts. These directions were violated in Jabalpur.

In the name of Senior DEEE (TRO) the running staff is being harassed by cancelling their weekly half. Due to improper crew linkage the loco pilots and assistant loco pilots could not attain proper rest. The WCREU further highlighted the inadequate training of AC Conversion Course at Bhopal, the pilots are being given training in Jabalpur to work on beat. The Divisional Railway Management seems have kept their eyes closed over the issue. Naveen Latoria while addressing the meet said that continuous ignorance of running staff problems and atrocities on running staff by management will not be tolerated. On not finding desired solution the Union will have no other option to aggrieved protest movement.
