Cops ensure surrendered woman Naxal tie nuptial knot

A woman Naxal, who surrendered before police some three-years ago, tied nuptial knot with a boy of her community. It may be mentioned that after surrender, police took care of all her expenses for education and other facilities till she attained the age of maturity. The marriage of the surrendered Naxalite was performed with all customs and in the presence of police officials.


Savitri Vishwakarma alias Reshma joined Naxals at the age of 13-years and she was an active member of Pallemaadi Local Operating Squad. After she surrendered in 2014, Naxals killed her father and since then police made all arrangements for her welfare. Rs 1.5 lakh was also given to her under rehabilitation policy.After Savitri attained age of maturity, district police searched a suitable boy for her and got her married. Besides police officials, surrendered Naxals were also present in the marriage. Parag Boddun, President of Pravahi Foundation, Secretary Mamta Boddun and its member Pasal Patel along with members of Gayatri Pariwaar extended their cooperation. A job was also given to boy in police petrol pump.
