Ajni, Pachpaoli, Jaripatka, Juni Kamptee cops register offences against protesters

The agitators were slapped with offences including rioting, causing damage to public property, blocking traffic and stone-pelting on on-duty cops

AJNI, Pachpaoli, Jaripatka and Juni Kamptee Police booked the protesters who resorted to violence in the aftermath of Bhima-Koregaon incident on Wednesday. Cops booked them for rioting, taking out ‘Morchas’ without permission and damaging public property.

Ajni Police registered an offence under Sections 143, 145, 149, and 341 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), read with Section 135 of Maharashtra Police Act, against Suresh Ramaji Bhawte, Bhaskar Suryavanshi, Vishal Prakash Golbhare, Nikhilesh Roopchand Gawarkhede, Raju Ghodeshwar, Vishal Patil, Manoj Matey, Swapnil Gaikwad, Suraj Belekar, Mangesh Gondani, Pramod Sukhdeo Bansod, Vinod Chandrabhan Hazare and other 40 men and women for blocking traffic at Shatabdi square.

Pachpaoli Police booked some 100-150 persons for taking out a rally, burning tyres on roads and forcing shopkeepers to down their shutters at Indora Chowk. Cops registered an offence under Sections 143, 147, 149, 117, 427, 435 and 341 of the IPC, read with Section 7 of Criminal Law Amendment Act and 135 of the Maharashtra Police Act against Bhau Gondane, Bhola Shende, Pawan Somkuwar, Sunny Koche, Bhushan Pali and other 100-150 protesters.

Jaripatka Police registered a similar offence against Mahesh Undersahare, Bhagnabai Meshram, Abhishek alias Chhotu, Ritesh Gowardhan Lokhande, Amol Sahare, Kisan Waghmare, Sujata Wankhede, Jyotsna Meshram, Ankit alias Jairam Chauhan, Gautam Ganvir and 323 others for resorting to stone-pelting on police personnel and Metro barricades and burning tyres on the road near Indora Square.

Similarly, Juni Kamptee Police registered an offence under Sections 336, 427 and 34 of the IPC and Section 3 (e) of Prevention of Damage to Public Property Act against 3-4 unidentified persons for smashing the windshield of a Ramtek-bound MSRTC bus (MH-14/BT-0810) in front of Choudhary Hospital.
