Accused driver Kanhaiya Divnani hit the school girl, injures other with newly-purchased car

In one more tragic incident, rash driving claimed life of a school girl and injured the other on Bairagarh road, a suburb of the Bhopal city, which has been increasing by leaps and bounds in recent times. The accused youth was learning driving in his newly-purchased car and he ran over two school girls while they were waiting for their school bus at a bus stop in Bairagarh in the early morning hours of Thursday.

In the accident, class VI girl was crushed while another class V girl student escaped with injuries and is undergoing treatment in a nearby private hospital where her condition is reported to be out of danger. According to SHO of Bairagarh Sudhir Arjariya, the incident took place at around 9 am near Yadav Restaurant when deceased Garima Shivdasani (11) and Stuti Sengar (10), both residents of Kailash Nagar and students of Navneet School in class 6 and 5 respectively, were waiting for their school bus.
The locals and a few others students who were standing there to catch their school bus stood shocked as the driver drove the car at a very high speed.

The driver of i-10 car bearing number MP-04 CJ-9856, was coming at a high speed when he suddenly lost control and ran over Garima Shivdasani. He also hit the other girl Stuti Sengar, but fortunately she somehow survived. The accused driver, Kanhaiya Divnani tried to run away from the spot but the locals waylaid the car and thrashed him badly and also damaged back glass of the car. Police on receiving information rushed to the place and arrested the accused driver as well as seized the vehicle.

The accused said to be owner of an electric shop and the car he was driving was recently purchased by him. The accused is a learner and was not a trained driver and at the time of incident instead of applying break, he mistakenly speeded car from accelerator, said a local.
The minor, Stuti, who sustained injuries was undergoing treatment in Chirayu Hospital and was discharged in the evening.

After the preliminary investigation the body was sent for the post-mortem and a case under Section 304-A of the IPC was registered against the errant driver.
