‘Rashtra Dharma Kirtan Mahotsav’ inaugurated

‘Rashtra Dharma Kirtan Mahotsav’ jointly organised by Rashtra Dharma Kirtan Mahotsav Ayojan Samiti, Mahal and Radha Govind Charitable Trust at Chitnis Park, Mahal was inaugurated at the hands of MLA Vikas Kumbhare on Friday.Senior Journalist Rajabhau Pophali, Bhaiyyaji Rokade, Director of Rokade Jewelers; Shripad Risaldar and Digambarbuwa Naik also shared dais. Smita Khangai conducted the proceedings. For the first time on the inaugural day, the organisers have presented an audio visual show ‘Sahyadritil Saat Ratne’ based on the description of forts and their importance during the era of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.

Praful Mategaonkar conceptualized and presented a brief history of Shivaji’s seven forts Shivneri, Torana, Rajgarh, Sinhgarh, Patapgarh, Sindhudurg and Raigad.“Every wall of these forts tell story of past glory of Maratha empire. People should not visit these forts as tourists and complain nothing is there to see. A person wants to understand history should dive deep, and to understand geography he needs to travel places,” Mategaonkar said.

Mategaonkar showed a series of images of the forts, with a background score by noted music director Shailesh Dani. He also infused powade, Maharashtrian folk songs, in-between his narration, written by Dhananjay Modak.The premises has been named as ‘Dharmaveer Munje premises’ and the two entrance gates named after Vishwanath Kelkar, National President of Vishwa Hindu Parishad and Bhau Maharaj Pandit.
