Society of Clinical Ayurveda (SCA) has supported the provision of six-month bridge course which is meant for the recognised doctors of the streams other than Allopathy. With the objective of ensuring that Ayush doctors can also contribute along with Allopathic doctors for betterment in the health services of the country, Government of India has proposed the National Medical Commission, the SCA has observed.

It may be mentioned that Indian Medical Association (IMA) recently held a country-wide protest against National Medical Commission Bill. The IMA is also against the said bridge course provision. SCA convened a press conference at Raipur Press Club on Friday and its office-bearers criticized the IMA over its recent move of calling protest. ‘This move was anti people,” said SCA President Dr Anuj Khare and several other office-bearers.

Expressing support to the provision of bridge course, the SCA office bearers said that such Ayurved doctors who have the BAMS degree are in fact having the knowledge of modern medicine and they can prescribe rightly such medicines. Allopathic doctors are prescribing Ayurvedic medicines. The bridge course will enable the Ayurved and other doctors to serve the common people who prefer allopathic medicines.
