Cold wave sets in for next 24 hours in parts of State

Cold wave warning has been issued to Chambal, Rewa, Shahdol, Sagar and Gwalior divisions in next twenty four hours. Dense fog is likely to be persist at Sagar, Chambal. Gwalior, Shahdol, Rewa divisions. Chances of shallow fog is likely to be present at isolated places over Morena, Bhind, Datia, Tikamgarh, Chhatarpur.


With 26.5 degrees Celsius recorded on Saturday, normal temperature in Bhopal was above three degrees Celsius. Minimum temperature recorded was 10.9 degrees Celsius. Chances of mist will be there during morning hours. Average wind speed recorded was around 10 kmph. Chilly weather with light foggy conditions were witnessed in the State capital.

Additional to that the northerly winds is also enhancing the weather conditions making evening temperature drop. However, as per the Weather Department moderate fog is likely to persist in Bhopal and Hoshangabad divisions, but Indore division is expected to have dry weather. Meanwhile, temperatures among the four main cities- Bhopal, Indore, Gwalior and Jabalpur ranged between 26.5 and 3.1 degrees Celsius. Minimum temperature at Gwalior was recorded at 3.1 (-4) degrees Celsius while maximum remained at 22.4 (-1) degrees Celsius. In Jabalpur, minimum and maximum temperatures were respectively recorded at 7.4(-3) and 23.7(+1) degrees Celsius. Khajuraho was recorded at 23.6 (+1) degree Celsius and minimum at 1.4 (-7) degree Celsius. Pachmarhi recorded maximum of 22 degree Celsius which was one degree above normal temperature and minim temperature was five degree which was two degree below the normal temperature. Lowest temperature was recorded at one degree Celsius at Khajuraho. Cold wave hit Rewa, Sidhi, Umaria, Sagar and Gwalior.


The light sunshine witnessed on Saturday was not providing any respite as cold wind was persistent throughout the day. There was slight decline in temperature in the region. Cold wave conditions prevailed in many areas but other then Chambal and Gwalior divisions rest of the northern part in Madhya Pradesh is likely to have moderate fog. In Bhopal, sky will be generally clear with light surface northerly winds blowing. Weather conditions in Bhopal is expected to remain same in next twenty four hours and no major change in temperature is expected.
