Abhijeet enthrals with scintillating performance

Yet another feather added to the richness of the cultural festival of the city, the grand, ‘Khasdar Sanskrutik Mahotsav’ with the presence of popular playback singer, Abhijeet Bhattacharya on Sunday evening at Ishwar Deshmukh Shararik Shikshan Mahavidyalaya, Krida Square.
Abhijeet Bhattacharya was in the city to delight the Nagpurians with his melodious voice on the same stage where bollywood star Salman Khan appeared for the inaugural function of the Mahotsav on Saturday.

CMD of Western Coal Fields Limited, Rajiv Ranjan Mishra and Principal of Ishwar Deshmukh Shararik Shikshan Mahavidyalaya, Keshav Bhagat were the Chief Guests of the event.

As soon as the traditional lamp was lit at the hands Union Minister for Surface Transport, Nitin Gadkari, MLC, Anil Sole, Former MP, Datta Meghe, Former MLC, Girish Gandhi and chief guests the musical evening got a green signal by Gadkari.

Gadkari while addressing the audience said that Kavivarya Sureshbhatt Auditorium is established with a motto to provide a platform to the city artists from different backgrounds involved in cultural activities. He said this Mahotsav is bringing before the Nagpurians all sort of cultural activities including drama, discourse, Kavi Sammelan etc to guide the youths of the city to expand and update the culture.

About Khasdar Sanskrutik Mahotsav, Gadkari said, “ This Sanskrutik Mahotsav is like a Krida Mahotsav hosted in the city.”
He appealed the city audience to participate actively in the festival and update themselves.
Before concluding he thanked all the members of the organising committee including Anil Sole, Jayprakah Gupta and others for their efforts.

The musical evening started with the opening performance by melodious singer, Sa Re Ga Ma Pa fame, Raktima Mukherjee. ‘Ae Zindagi Gale Laga Le...’ was the first song performed by the female vocalist at the programme.

Abhijeet Bhattacharya made an impactful entry while performing his popular song from the movie Baadshah, ‘Baadshah O Baadshah...’. Looking at the crowd having different taste of music he provided the audience with complete package of musical treat. He performed some songs from the 90s including ‘Bohot Khoobsurat Ho...’, ‘Bas Itna Sa Khwab Hai...’, ‘Musafir Hu Yaaro, Na Ghar Hai Na Thikana...’, ‘Ye Jo Mohabbat Hai...’, ‘Zindagi Ek Safar Hai Suhana...’ and many others. On huge demand by the audience he then presented his popular song for the youth, ‘Tan Tana Tan...’ to which the audience could not resist but left their seats to dance.

The female vocalist Raktima Mukherjee, enthralled the Nagpurians with her concluding performance of a marathi song, ‘Aika Dajiba...’. The audience cheered with enthusiasm while the singers performed.

Bhattacharya is a singer with a great sense of humour he made the audience laugh and giggle with his jokes in between the performances. The gala days for the Nagpurians has just begun and will continue to keep the city audience entertained.

Chandrashekar Bawankule, Energy Minister and Guardian Minister of Nagpur District, Rajesh Bagdi, Renuka Deshkar, Ajay Sancheti were prominently present at the event.

Dr Sacchidanand Shevde will deliver discourses on January 11 at Kavivarya Suresh Bhat Auditorium from 7 pm onwards.
